What Happens When YOU Visit The CRC?
When you first walk in the door you will see a smiling receptionist ready to greet you. If you have never been in the Career Resource Centre before, you will be asked to complete a short registration form. One of our three employment specialists will explain the services that we offer. If you need assistance accessing any of those services we can help you.
Staff are available at all times to assist clients but the overriding philosophy is to empower you by providing you with the knowledge and confidence needed to achieve your career goals.
Whether you are a first time visitor to the CRC or a regular client, we are sure you will appreciate the comfortable atmosphere that is provided for your job searching and networking.

Client Phone Message Service
A phone number is now available for CRC clients who do not have a telephone to use for job search purposes. For instance you could put this phone number on your resume and prospective employers could leave a message for you to call them back to arrange an interview. For further information please call (902) 679-7460 or ask for help at the receptionist desk.
Community Resources
Information is available on a number of community groups, organizations and businesses so that you can make further connections on such topics as: employment counselling, small business counselling, educational upgrading and training, and career planning.

Computer Access
Adjoining the library, the CRC has 10 Internet-connected computers which can be used to search online jobs, research potential employers, create resumes with our WinWay software and email resume information to potential employers.
CRC staff members are available at all times to assist clients with technology, to do research on the Internet and to answer any questions.

- Internet Explorer
Even if you've never used a computer before, at the CRC we will teach you, step by step, how to take advantage of the technology.

Our job and training bulletin boards are updated daily to provide you with current information on local opportunities.

Photcopying/Printing
- 10 FREE printed and photocopied pages (per day) and then it is only $.10/page for additional copies.
- $.15 per page for resume professional paper
Meeting Rooms
The CRC has a workshop room which is available to our community partners for workshops and meetings.
Resource Library
The CRC resource library contains materials on employment, education and entrepreneurship. Acquisitions continue to come from partnering organizations, government departments, businesses, and community groups.
Books on general career exploration, composing your resume and cover letter, preparing for an interview, and owning your own business are highlighted. We have local business and agency directories, newspapers, college calendars, and much more.
Resume Writing
Computers are available for you to use to create or update your resume and cover letter. The WinWay Resume Program can walk you through the steps of creating the perfect document or you can use Microsoft Word. Our staff can also assist you.
All computers in the Career Resource Centre are connected to a laser printer for top-quality documents.
Workshops and Special Enhancement Programs
The CRC offers a wide range of workshops, seminars and information sessions. These are tailored to the needs of the individual and designed to help participants unlock their career potential. The curriculums were developed in consultation with our community partners and are evaluated to ensure that they meet the ever-changing needs of the clients and employers.
Presented by CRC staff, as well as by experienced and qualified facilitators from our community partners (government, business and community agencies), these workshops allow you to learn and ask questions in an informal, welcoming atmosphere.
